Joel Liberman is rabbi of Tree of Life, a Messianic Jewish congregation located in San Diego, CA, a position he has held since 1996. He is ordained as a Messianic Rabbi with the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues (IAMCS). Joel has also earned a Master of Divinity degree in Ministry with a concentration in Biblical Studies. For the past 18 years at Tree of Life, Joel has faithfully taught through the Scriptures each week expositionally, combining exegesis with life-application. In 2001 Joel became the Treasurer of the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA), followed in 2003 by another four-year term on its Executive Committee. In 2007, Joel was elected Treasurer of the International Messianic Jewish Alliance (IMJA) and was appointed to a two year term on the Steering Committee of the International Alliance of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues (IAMCS), which he has been reappointed to every two years through 2015. In 2009, Joel was also appointed and hired as the Executive Director of the IMJA. In 2013, Joel transitioned out of the Executive Directorship of the IMJA into becoming the part-time Director of Operations and Development for the IAMCS. Over the years, Joel has been a frequent conference speaker and is frequently asked to speak in other venues, sharing the Scriptures from a Messianic Jewish and prophetic viewpoint. See less
