Joann Segovia will join Winona State University as Associate Professor in January, 2009. She is currently Professor at Minnesota State University Moorhead. She previously taught on the faculties of University of North Dakota and University of Minnesota Duluth. Joann Segovia will join Winona State University as Associate Professor in January, 2009. She is currently Professor at Minnesota State University Moorhead. She previously taught on the faculties of University of North Dakota and University of Minnesota Duluth. Her research and publications in various journals reflect the use of technology in the classroom. She regularly presents innovative approaches to use technologies at various accounting and technology conferences as well as using Dynamics GP throughout the accounting curriculum. Her current behavioral research includes investigating companies' responses to SOX reporting of material weaknesses. She received the Midwest American Accounting Association Best Paper Award and Creative Contribution to Accounting Education; the AIS Best Paper Award, and Minnesota State University Moorhead Academic Affairs Excellence Award in Research Activity. Joann is active in the American Accounting Association and has served on the Midwest Steering Committee and Nominating Committee, as well as the Midwest Teaching and Curriculum Director. She also is on the Board of the Accounting Information Systems Educators and various university committees. She regularly reviews, moderates, or discusses papers within the information systems or teaching and curriculum sections for various conferences. Joann obtained her PhD from Texas Tech University, her MBA from Creighton University, and her BS degree in accounting from Wayne State College of Wayne, Nebraska. She is a CPA. She regularly prepares or reviews various instructional materials and writes CPA exam questions. See less
