Jim Weber taught English, including creative writing, for nearly twenty years before he became the lead writer and editor for an educational publishing company, where he wrote and edited a wide variety of short fiction and nonfiction pieces. Jim Weber taught English, including creative writing, for nearly twenty years before he became the lead writer and editor for an educational publishing company, where he wrote and edited a wide variety of short fiction and nonfiction pieces. For the past several years he has been a freelance writer and editor. He moved to Austin in 1970 to attend the University of Texas, and in the subsequent forty-five years has experienced firsthand the many growth surges and growing pains of the city.
