Jenny Halstead studied Art and Design at the Sutton & Cheam School of Art followed by a Guest Scholarship at the Royal Academy Schools, London. She is well-known and widely admired, nationally and internationally for her draughtsmanship, her modelling of detail and her use of colour. She was artist in residence at the Harris Garden, Reading University, in 2012 and published 'An artist's year in the Harris Garden' with Two Rivers Press in 2013.
