Dr. Jeffrey Bland, a biochemist by training, founded Bastyr University in 1980, the first accredited medical school in the United States to grant degrees in naturopathic medicine and other allied health professional disciplines. Dr. Jeffrey Bland, a biochemist by training, founded Bastyr University in 1980, the first accredited medical school in the United States to grant degrees in naturopathic medicine and other allied health professional disciplines. His monthly audio magazine, "Functional Medicine Update", reaches over 100,000 practitioners worldwide. Dr. Bland earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California (Irvine) and his doctorate in synthetic organic chemistry from the University of Oregon. He lives in California. See less
