Jeevan Zutshi grew up in Kashmir, India, and migrated to the US in his early 20s. He earned his graduate degree in civil engineering from California State University, where he was also on the faculty for a short time. Jeevan Zutshi grew up in Kashmir, India, and migrated to the US in his early 20s. He earned his graduate degree in civil engineering from California State University, where he was also on the faculty for a short time. He has been practicing real estate development and brokerage during the past decade. He is actively involved in his local community work and has been instrumental in bringing his immigrant community into the mainstream American fabric. To promote diversity, in 1993, he founded the non-profit organization, Indo-American Community Federation, that holds its signature event 'the Unity Dinner' every year in March. Furthermore, he has been actively involved in promoting Indo-U.S. relations and peace in his strife torn birthplace, Kashmir, through involvement in a myriad organizations and educating the Capitol Hill during the past two decades.
