Jean-Paul C. Montagnier is Professor of Musicology at Universite de Lorraine, France, and Adjunct Professor at McGill University, Montreal. He took his Ph.D. from Duke University, North Carolina, where he specialized in the music of the French baroque, and received two first prizes from the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris. He serves on the council of Musica Gallica, run by the French Ministry of Culture, and on the editorial board of the Collected Works of Jean-Baptiste Lully.
