Janis Kuby, late of San Francisco State University and University of California-Berkeley, was the originator of this textbook and author of the first three editions. Her expert teaching and writing skills made Immunology the bestselling text for the course, and her vision for the text as a way to combine cutting edge content in an accessible, pedagogically rich format, lives on in the new edition. Professor Kuby died of cancer in 1997.
