She has worked with a variety of clients including published and aspiring authors, company executives, public relations and marketing departments, politicians, and publishing companies. Janessa was a journalism instructor at Ohio State University. She taught writing and copy editing to journalism and strategic communications students for six years. She also was the adviser of The Lantern, Ohio State's student newspaper, in the summers for four years. Janessa has a master's degree in communications from Ohio State University and completed two years of full-time course work for her doctorate in the same program.
