James P. Blase was born in St. Louis, MO, raised on Long Island, NY, and has called Texas home since 1982. He was a Crew Chief on a Huey helicopter in Vietnam, graduated from Stony Brook University in 1977, and was an aircraft mechanic for Eastern Airlines for almost ten years before working as an airline pilot for fifteen years.
