James Etim
James S. Etim is a Professor of Education in the Department of Education at Winston Salem State University. He received his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wyoming, Laramie. James S. Etim is a Professor of Education in the Department of Education at Winston Salem State University. He received his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wyoming, Laramie. His research areas include Middle grades English Language Arts, education across cultures, instructional strategies and gender issues in education. He has authored one book and edited/coedited eight books. He has published (solely and jointly) more than 60 articles and book chapters in both national and international journals. He has been a Co Pi of a National Science Foundation grant on the use of technology in the classrooms (2013-2016). He has received two Fulbright Specialist Awards, one to Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria and the other to the Polytechnic of Namibia, Windhoek, Namibia. He has also been a Carnegie African Diaspora Fellow at the University of Jos, Nigeria (2017). Between 2015 and 2018, he serves as the Education Panel Chair for the Global Undergraduate Awards, Dublin, Ireland. In 2017, he became part of the Center for the Study of Economic Mobility at Winston Salem State University, researching on issues related to education for at risk learners and technology in education.
