J C Sainty

J. C. Sainty was born in London in 1934 and is a graduate of Oxford University. He entered the service of the House of Lords in 1959 and retired as Clerk of the Parliaments in 1990. He served as Research Assistant at the Institute of Historical Research from 1970-74 with responsibility for compiling volumes on the personnel of government departments 1660-1870 and was Commissioner at the Royal Commission on Historical Manuscripts from 1991-2003.
