Irene Lebeter worked as a secretary for forty-five years, in industry, Civil Service and latterly the NHS. Her childhood love of story writing has continued throughout her life and has led to professional creative writing in her retirement. Irene Lebeter worked as a secretary for forty-five years, in industry, Civil Service and latterly the NHS. Her childhood love of story writing has continued throughout her life and has led to professional creative writing in her retirement. A previous member of Priesthill Writing Forum, she is now a member of two writing groups, Strathkelvin and Kelvingrove, and has completed a two-year creative writing course at Strathclyde University. Irene has been an award winner in both novel and short story genres at the Annual Conference of the Scottish Association of Writers. She has been featured in the Federation of Writers' anthology 'Making Waves' as well as having multiple stories and non-fiction historical articles published in both UK and USA magazines. 'Maddie' is her second novel and comes following the success of 'Vina's Quest'. See less
