Ioan Bolovan is Professor at the Faculty of History and Philosophy of Babes-Bolyai University, Romania, where he is also Vice-Rector and Director of the Centre for Population Studies. He is a Corresponding Member of the Romanian Academy, and Director of the "George Barit" Institute of History of the Romanian Academy of Cluj-Napoca.
