In 1983, Atsumi established a consultancy in cross-cultural management training in the suburbs of Boston - the first of its kind in the U.S. Her training program gained fame after being featured in Time magazine, and the firm started providing personnel training and global market strategy solutions to numerous blue-chip U.S. corporations. Atsumi's corporate clients have included top Fortune companies such as IBM, Ford, Xerox, and Bausch and Lomb. For 15 years, she was in charge of executive training at DuPont Worldwide and United Technologies.
