Ian Pickup is currently Principal Lecturer in physical education at Roehampton University. Before joining Roehampton, Ian taught in secondary and primary schools, within Further Education, worked as a development officer for the Rugby Football Union and played professional rugby. He has recently published Teaching Physical Education in the Primary School: A Developmental Approach (Continuum; with Lawry Price) and was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship by the Higher Education Academy in 2007.
