Horst Arndt, Ph.D. graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia (BASc), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (SM) and Carleton University (PhD). Horst worked at Bell Northern Research for 13 years in research and design of transducers, telephone apparatus, semiconductors, digital signal processing, and ergonomics. Horst Arndt, Ph.D. graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia (BASc), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (SM) and Carleton University (PhD). Horst worked at Bell Northern Research for 13 years in research and design of transducers, telephone apparatus, semiconductors, digital signal processing, and ergonomics. Horst joined Unitron in 1981 as Director R&D and retired from the position of Vice President R&D in 2002. He has played a major role in the development of analog hearing aids, digitally programmable products of the behind-the-ear and in-the ear types, and initiated research into digital signal processing technology for hearing aids in the late 1980As. This technology is now matured and applied in Unitron HearingAs digital product line. Horst has been a member of IEC/TC29/WG13: AHearing AidsA since the mid-1980As. He has served as a member of the HIA Technical Committee and on ANSI 63.19 to develop a standard for the measurement of compatibility between wireless communication devices and hearing aids. See less
