Hilmi Ibrahim, Professor of Physical Education and Recreation at Whittier College, obtained his B.A. from the American University in Cairo, Egypt, then pursued his graduate studies on a Fullbright Scholarship obtaining an M.A. in Sociology and a Doctorate in Recreation from Indiana University. Ibrahim's research was published in the Research Quarterly of Exercise and Sport, International Review of Modern Sociology, Leisure Studies (London), Society and Leisure (Prague), and the Journal of Leisure Research. He also authored and edited a number of articles in the Journal of Physical Education and Recreation, the Journal of California of HPERD, California Park and Recreation Magazine, Journal of Recreation and Leisure, the Physical educator, The Rock (Whittier College) and Egypt (Embassy of Egypt).
