Hilda Van Stockum

HILDA VAN STOCKUM, mother of six, wrote and illustrated nearly 20 books for children between the years 1934 and 1976. Born in 1908 in Holland of Dutch and Irish heritage, she met her American husband, E.R. Marlin, while studying art in Ireland. Each of her books reflects the countries and cultures of which she has been a part. Other titles not included in this series but by the same author are The Winged Watchman (Book, p. 11; Audio p. 22) and The Borrowed House (p. 17).
