HELEN BRUDER is an independent scholar based in Oxford. She is the author of the feminist study, 'William Blake and the Daughters of Albion' (1997) and recently reviewed Blakean 'Gender' scholarship in 'The Palgrave Guide to Advances in William Blake Studies' (2006). She is currently working on the neglected women in Blake's circle, especially the letters and journals of Blake's lifelong friend Ann Flaxman.
