HAP GILLILAND, THE AUTHOR Dr. Hap Gilliland, author of this book, is a Professor of Education and is president of the Non Profit Council for Indian Education. He has gone to many Indian reservations and several countries to train the teachers to adapt their instruction to the cultures of their students. He loves to travel, but as he travels, and visits various cultures throughout the world, he prefers to go in and live with a Native family, and learn the culture by living it. He has done this in several locations on each of the six continents and several Pacific islands. One of his favorite cultures and the group that he has visited the most frequently is the Yanowamo Indians of the South American Rain Forest, about whom this book is written. See less
