Halina Schafer retired from her second career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker after working with families and individuals for over 20 years. She began writing children's books when she retired and a third generation child was born in her family. Halina Schafer retired from her second career as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker after working with families and individuals for over 20 years. She began writing children's books when she retired and a third generation child was born in her family. The book for birth to pre-school age children, "Fiona and the Extra-Special Invisible Gifts," was published in November of 2017. Now, she has written an "easy reader" chapter book for ages 6 - 9. Halina holds a Master's degree in Social Work. She had multiple post-grad certifications and focused on child development when she was a Director of a program that had a children's nursery to pre-school component. She considers herself a life-long learner. She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
