Born in Nelson, Gus Roxburgh was brought up in the outdoors and to this day is a passionate adventurer, traveller and environmentalist. Born in Nelson, Gus Roxburgh was brought up in the outdoors and to this day is a passionate adventurer, traveller and environmentalist. With a Masters in Natural Resource Management, Gus worked for several years in the environmental field before transitioning full-time to working in media. Originally an award-winning freelance writer, Gus soon branched into television, adding directing, producing and presenting to his repertoire. Gus' experience encompasses everything from Oscar-shorlisted feature documentaries to a broad range of travel, adventure, science and reality-based television shows, many of which have sold all over the world. His films have premiered at the prestigious festivals including Sundance, Los Angeles, Deauville and Torino Film Festivals and he has been nominated for an Emmy award for Best Documentary for his film on the gangs of Los Angeles. As a presenter Gus has also hosted four popular documentary series for Television New ('Wicked Weather', 'Human Potential', 'Brain Power' and 'Wild About NZ').
