Gordon Parker arrived in Anchorage as a boy only weeks after Alaska became a state. He says he never had a career but rather a series of adventures. Beginning as a rock and roll disc jockey, he soon found life as a broadcast journalist more interesting, eventually founding a statewide radio news network. He served on staffs of legislative offices in both Juneau and Washington, D.C. He was a co-owner of a movie theater in Nome before becoming a senior executive of a major telecommunications company in Anchorage and a lobbyist in both state and national capitals. Born in Louisiana and raised in Alaska, Gordon believes he has dual citizenship in two of the nation's most fascinating cultures. While he calls Anchorage home, his fictional characters, Trent Marshall and Darcey Anderson, are beginning to divide their time between Alaska and New Orleans, with visits to the Pines, Darcey's ancestral home in North Louisiana's Sabine Parish.
