Giovanni Cerino Badone (MA, PhD) is Professor of Modern History at the University of Eastern Piedmont 'Amedeo Avogadro'. Captain of the Italian Army Reserve Corps, he is also Lecturer of Military History at the Officer School (Scuola di Applicazione d'Arma) in Turin. His main fields of interest are European Military History, Mountain and Fortifications Warfare in 17th and 18th centuries. He lives in Milan with his wife Roberta and his son Federico.
