Rosenthal is the Director of the National Council of Synagogues, a partnership of the Reform, Conservative, and Reconstructionist movements in Judaism dealing with interfaith matters nationally. He served as a congregational rabbi for thirty-three years and was Executive Vice President of the New York Board of Rabbis.
