Georgianna Martin is Associate Professor of Counseling & Human Development Services at the University of Georgia (UGA). Dr. Martin completed her PhD in Higher Education & Student Affairs at the University of Iowa, Master's degree in College Student Personnel at Bowling Green State University, and Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at Millsaps College. Her primary research interests are on the social class identity and college experiences of low-income, first-generation students; the impact of college students' out-of-class experiences on key learning outcomes such as critical thinking and socially responsible leadership; and social/political activism. Dr. Martin is also a first-generation college student, a mother of three daughters, a wife, and a dog lover. She has published over 30 articles and book chapters and 6 books in the field of higher education and student affairs. See less
