George Peele

George Peele (1556-1596) was an English dramatist. He experimented in a variety of forms, including the pageant, history, pastoral, comedy and melodrama, but is most famous for his work The Old Wives Tale , that blends folklore and romance. His other works include The Arraignment of Paris , Edward I , The Battle of Alcazar , and The Love of King David and Fair Bethsabe .
