Formerly the chairperson of the division of science and engineering and dean of faculty at Richmond College of CUNY (now The College of Staten Island of CUNY), he has been professor of chemistry at that institution since 1976. Dr. Odian has five years of industrial experience as research chemist and research director, respectively, at Thiokol Chemical Co., and Radiation Applications, Inc. He is the author of more than 60 research papers and five books in the area of polymer chemistry. Ira Blei received his M.A. degree in physical chemistry from Brooklyn College of CUNY and his Ph.D. in physical biochemistry from Rutgers University. Formerly the deputy chairperson for the division of science and engineering and the dean of administrative planning at Richmond College of CUNY (now The College of Staten Island of CUNY), he has been professor of chemistry at The College of Staten Island since 1976. Dr. Blei has 10 years of industrial experience as research chemist and director of research and development, respectively, at Lever Bros. Co., and Melpar, Inc. His research interests are in the application of colloid and surface chemistry to biological problems. See less
