George Lambelle is an experienced broadcaster and journalist who has interviewed many famous people, including Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair, the Rolling Stones, and various stars from film, television, radio, and theater. He has also traveled to many countries in Europe. Throughout his fifty-year career as a journalist and BBC broadcaster in North-East England, George Lambelle has won many awards for the BBC in various roles such as producer, director, reporter, outside broadcast commentator, news editor, and scriptwriter for news, documentaries, and drama. He has also turned to writing fiction and producing DVDs in retirement. His novels often incorporate elements of the north-east of England, which he holds dear, with its industrial heritage and beautiful countryside. The Lambelle family has some historical connections. George Lambelle has a distant relative named Marie Therese Louise of Savory, Princess De Lambelle. The princess served as a lady-in-waiting to Marie Antoinette. During the French Revolution, some members of the Lambelle family fled and settled in England. Unfortunately, the princess was beheaded by a mob, and her head was displayed on a pike as a message to her friend, the queen. See less
