Frederick Schauer is the David and Mary Harrison Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of Virginia and the author of Free Speech: A Philosophical Enquiry ; Playing by the Rules ; Profiles, Probabilities, and Stereotypes ; Thinking Like a Lawyer ; and The Force of Law .
