Frederick Cooper is Professor of History at New York University. Frederick Cooper is Professor of History at New York University. His books have won prizes from the American Historical Association, the African Studies Association, and the World History Association. He has conducted research in both East and West Africa, and has taught at Harvard University, the University of Michigan, and has been a visiting professor in France.
