Frank H Ellis
Frank H. Ellis was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1916. He was educated at Northwestern (B.S. with Honors 1939) and Yale (Ph.D. 1948). Ellis taught English Literature at Yale (1945-1951) and at Smith College (1958-1986), where he was Mary Augusta Jordan Professor from 1974 until 1986. He has published a dozen books and about fifty articles and reviews.
