Dr. Fingani Annie Mphande is a molecular biologist and microbiologist with extensive experience in infectious disease research in developing countries. She has a PhD in infection biology from the Karolinksa Institute in Sweden, a Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Applied Food Microbiology from the University of Botswana, and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Malawi, Chancellor College. During her career, she has authored a number of publications in peer reviewed journals, as well as a book Infectious Diseases and Rural Livelihood in Developing Countries, which addresses the cycle of poverty, health and livelihood in resource-poor countries. She has worked with infectious diseases, looking at host-parasite interactions, vector management, as well as conducting an analysis and annotation of parasite genomes (Plasmodium genome). She is currently an independent consultant at TIA-Bio Consulting, focusing on diseases affecting vulnerable populations and resource-poor countries. See less
