Erik van Veenendaal CISA is an internationally recognized testing expert, currently working as an independent consultant and the Chief Executive Officer of the TMMi Foundation. Erik is also a senior lecturer at the Eindhoven University of Technology, Faculty of Technology Management. After spending the early part of his career in software development, Erik moved to software quality, specializing in software testing. He founded Improve Quality Services BV, to provide consultancy and training services in testing, requirements engineering and quality management. Erik has been actively involved in the ISTQB since its foundation, including as vice-president and founder of the Belgium and The Netherlands board. For his major contribution to the field of testing, Erik received the European Testing Excellence Award in 2007 and the ISTQB International Testing Excellence Award in 2015. He is the author of numerous papers and a number of books on testing and software, including The Testing Practitioner, The Little TMMi, Foundations of Software Testing and Testing according to TMap.
