Edward H Schafer

Edward H. Schafer was Agassiz Professor of Oriental Languages at the University of California, Berkeley. His scholarship was devoted to the T'ang dynasty, from the eighth to the tenth centuries, which saw the greatest cultural flowering in Chinese history.
