Eberhard Petzold first studied law and in 1973 he was a student in Hamburg. After the Second State Examination, he devoted himself more and more to his passion for photography. From 1980 he had his own photo studio in Hamburg as an advertising, industrial and architectural photographer. In the early 2000s, due to the many photo shoots from the merchant shipping industry and the associated long-term travels, he started his studio and has since then devoted himself entirely to the maritime photography. The subject of his first two portraits was the memorial St. Nikolai in Hamburg and the city itself before he turned to the port of Hamburg. Afterwards, pictures were created about global shipbuilding, shipbuilding at the Hyundai shipyard in South Korea and the construction of container ships at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg. Another topic was the SCOT 8000 special anchors for a picture book and the guest anchors welded together at the Neptun shipyard in Rostock-Travem nde. See less
