Drayson Hounsome grew up playing soccer on the island of Jersey in the Channel Islands, a group of small self-governing British islands nestled in the Bay of Mont St. Michel off the French coast. He had the unique opportunity of traveling for both England and France to play soccer (aka football), learning both the English and the European styles of play. He dreamed of playing professionally but suffered a career-ending eye injury. Unable to continue playing at a high level, he turned to coaching. For the past 10 years he has served as the national director of ProExcel soccer (formerly NOGA), the largest and most respected soccer education company in the Northeast. He has coached boys' and girls' teams and has worked with college and select youth teams. He has written several coaching curricula for clubs, lectured to university physical education students, and conducted coaching clinics for novice parent coaches. Additionally, Drayson has professionally trained and coached four New York State girls' championship teams, including the three-time Girls' New York State Cup Champions, the Massapequa Fever (ages under 10 through under 14). He is currently the Head Women's Soccer Coach at the nationally ranked CW Post Campus of Long Island University. See less
