Dr. Foteini Spingou earned her DPhil from the University of Oxford in 2013. Since then she has published extensively on medieval Greek literature and society, the relation between word and image, and other topics related to Byzantine intellectual and cultural history. Dr. Foteini Spingou earned her DPhil from the University of Oxford in 2013. Since then she has published extensively on medieval Greek literature and society, the relation between word and image, and other topics related to Byzantine intellectual and cultural history. Her research has received recognition from a number of institutions, including the Mary Jaharis Center for Byzantine Art and Culture, the Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection (Harvard University), the A. S. Onassis Foundation, the A.G. Leventis Foundation, and the Nikos & Lydia Tricha Foundation for Education and European Culture. Dr Spingou has also taught at the University of Edinburgh, University of Oxford and the Open Universities in Greece and Cyprus. This book presents her early work on epigrams on works of art and ms.
