Connie Estrada Ireland earned her B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior in 1996, followed by a second B.A. in Criminology, Law and Society in 1997 from the University of California, Irvine (UCI). She earned her M.A. in Social Ecology in 2001 and Ph.D. in Criminology, Law & Society in 2003, also from UCI. Connie Estrada Ireland earned her B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior in 1996, followed by a second B.A. in Criminology, Law and Society in 1997 from the University of California, Irvine (UCI). She earned her M.A. in Social Ecology in 2001 and Ph.D. in Criminology, Law & Society in 2003, also from UCI. Dr. Ireland began her position in the Department of Criminal Justice at California State University, Long Beach in 2003, where she is currently an Associate Professor and Graduate Advisor. Her primary research interests are in corrections, especially parolee reintegration and service delivery, as well as the operations of correctional agencies, with an emphasis on drug treatment and gender. She is a member of the Western Society of Criminology, for which she was a board member between 2004-2007, the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences, and the American Society of Criminology, where she is active in the divisions on Corrections and Women & Crime. Dr. Ireland received official recognition from the United States House of Representatives for her research on Women in Parole, which was exhibited at the T. H. Pendergast Parole Museum in 2005. Since her appointment at CSULB, she has published three books and fifteen peer-reviewed articles and delivered more than fifty conference presentations.
