Douglass G Adair

Adair was Professor of History at the Claremont Graduate School in California at the time of his death. Prior to coming to Claremont, he was on thefaculty at William and Mary and had taught at other universities including Yale, Princeton, and the University of Washington. He received his Ph.D. in history from Yale University. The Douglass G. Adair Memorial Award is given every four years for the most significant articles in the William and Mary Quarterly.
