Doug Dowell was born at his parent's home and the small town of Melbourne, Missouri. Doug is a retired attorney, real estate broker, and movie actor/producer. He graduated from Donnelly Junior College in 1961 and from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri in 1963 with a BA in history and earned a Juris Doctor degree from UMKC Law School in 1970.He practiced law for 15 years and began acting in movies in 1987 in Cross of Fire, a four-hour TV miniseries. Doug was awarded a Best Actor Golden Statue for his role as the grandfather of The Leading Actress in the feature film Normandy is My Name (International Independent Film Festival).
