Doug Carroll has conducted investment training seminars in major financial centers around the globe for more than two decades. His varied experiences in sales, trading, and investment management allow him to draw upon an unusually broad range of professional activities to demonstrate in the classroom practical applications of training program content. This is supplemented by a rigorous grounding in the legal, regulatory, and theoretical aspects of the financial markets gained while earning numerous professional licenses and pertinent college degrees, including master's degrees in finance and economics. His earliest market experience was as a Registered Commodity Representative for the Madda Trading Company dealing primarily in interest rate, currency and agricultural futures for retail clients. While at Citicorp Investment Services, Carroll worked on the bond trading desk executing trades in treasury and municipal securities. He has more than 10 years' experience managing client stock and bond portfolios. Carroll also has extensive professional experience developing and delivering investment training programs. Audiences and topics have run the gamut from "Introduction to the Securities Markets" for industry neophytes to "Advanced Derivatives" for portfolio managers and trading desk personnel. He has presented training programs in most of the major financial centers in Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Carroll regularly presents courses and seminars on a wide variety of finance and investment related topics. Programs delivered at the basic to intermediate level range from financial accounting to macroeconomics to financial mathematics to orientation to the stock, bond, options, and futures markets. However, the bulk of the programs delivered, as well as the most advanced content level, relate to the analysis and valuation of derivatives and fixed income securities. Academic credentials include two undergraduate degrees from Northern Illinois University (B.A. history, B.S. economics) and two graduate degrees, the first from Northern (M.A. economics), the second from the University of Chicago (M.B.A. finance). During the course of his career, Carroll has earned a number of securities and commodities licenses including Series 3, 7, 24, and 63. See less
