Mabry earned a bachelor's degree with honors from Kenyon College, a master's in education from Bowling Green State University and a doctorate with honors from Syracuse University. He has authored six books and hundreds of articles and is founder and editor of the Historical Text Archive (historicaltextarchive.com).
