Donald Greco grew up in Youngstown, Ohio. He spent his career as a fifth grade school teacher, a high school geometry teacher, and thirty-three years as a professor of mathematics. He has always dreamed of writing stories. So quietly, in his spare time, he wrote novels all his adult life. The only one who knew of his secret passion was his beloved wife, Angie, whom he tragically lost many years ago. Just writing words does not mean that they should be publishable. So Don, though he dreamed of telling his stories, wasn't sure if they would be worthy of publication. But in a chance encounter he met Dr. Robert Maurer of Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Since Bob was a professor of literature, and when he learned that Don had written stories, he read the manuscript of "Dracaena Marginata", Don's first novel. He told Don that he indeed had talent and that his stories should be read by others-and that he should continue writing. That novel, the third one in Don's series called the "Youngstown Quintet", was published in 2014 and was designated by Kirkus Reviews as one of the best novels of the year. Greco still lives in Ohio. He is a widower with three sons and five grandchildren. See less
