Dennis Cooley
Dennis Cooley was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan, and raised on a farm near there. He later moved to Manitoba, where he helped to start the Manitoba Writers' Guild and was a founding member of Turnstone Press. He is Professor of English at St. John's College, University of Manitoba, where he teaches Canadian literature, poetry, creative writing and literary theory. He later moved to Manitoba, where he helped to start the Manitoba Writers' Guild and was a founding member of Turnstone Press. He is Professor of English at St. John's College, University of Manitoba, where he teaches Canadian literature, poetry, creative writing and literary theory. He has published more than one hundred articles, reviews, interviews and columns; is the editor of several collections and author of two critical books; has published a dozen volumes of poetry, including Bloody Jack (2002) and country music (2004), and helps run the Canlit Archives on the Internet.
