David Bryer
After a degree in Drama, English and Modern Languages at Bristol University, David Bryer worked at the National Theatre. He then went into teaching, emerging later with a commission from Cheek by Jowl Theatre Company for a verse translation of Racine's Andromaque and later of Corneille's Le Cid. This led to a dual career of teaching and literary translation. He has been a Language Tutor at Sussex University since 1991.
