David Brinkley
David Brinkley was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, and was educated at the University of North Carolina and Vanderbilt University. After his Army service in World War II, he worked for United Press and then joined NBC, where he would launch The Huntley-Brinkley Report with Chet Huntley in 1956 and then co-anchor NBC Nightly News with John Chancellor.
