He is the son of a round-eyed small-town girl of European ancestry and a man of the Japanese gentry, a horticulturist and a writer, who had been a research professor and even an interpreter at Geneva, who just couldn't get a break in the America of the Great Depression and World War II. You had to be there.Sator received a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University, served as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force, edited daily newspapers of various sizes, and owned his own weekly paper. In between, he devoted much of his life to seeing as much of the world as possible - about 50 countries. He has written several other books, most notable in this context, The Turcophile File, which is about Turkiye, birthplace of the gospels and Christianity and far and away his favorite country.Sator is a widower, father of two sons, and grandfather to many.
