"Daniel Frasnay was born in 1928, in Villeune Le Roi, in the suburb of Paris and was raised by a gypsy grandmother. "Daniel Frasnay was born in 1928, in Villeune Le Roi, in the suburb of Paris and was raised by a gypsy grandmother. As early as 1944, he was hired as an apprentice by the portrait photographer Roger Carlet. He then, became a portrait printer in the famous Studio Harcourt and worked with the Lipnitzki brothers. Finally, he was hired by Henri Varna, the managing director of the Revues du Casino de Paris to photograph the last revue. Thus he became the most famous photographer of the most prestigious cabarets in Paris until the early 90s. Frasnay went on to publish an acclaimed book on the greatest artists of his time called Leur Monde, published by Draeger in 1969. For many years, he worked for French, Belgium and American magazines, which led him to photograph various subjects like Woman in France, Easter Island, the auction world of the Hotel Drouot in Paris and the night life of Paris. He has been living for 10 Years in Villeurbanne near Lyon." See less
